THE WOMEN MUST BE CRAZY?

The rainy season has not eluded us the seasonal showers and we wish that is all it could bless us with. But unfortunately, the usual storms that accompanied the wet season is less felt as Gender issues continue to take centre stage.

In the contemporary world in general and 21st Century in particular, the 3 topmost issues that are permeating society I think will be Acts of Terrorism, Homosexuality and thirdly, the theme for this write up – issues of Gender Advocacy especially Feminism.

The basic difference between our modern day feminists and Gender Advocates could be likened to Education , awareness of Gender roles and bitterness. It’s not surprising that most women under the cloth of bitterness and pain from precedence, tend to hate men for reasons only known to them and by extension , call that backward acts ‘feminism’ and pride themselves as ‘feminist.’

It is barbaric that some men in modern day delineates the competencies of women to the ‘conventional’ kitchen. Society has transcended from such a limited purview from which men and women role must be viewed. Statements such as ‘All men are the same’ and ‘women will always be women’ are derogatory in nature and must be suppressed among the sexes.

Inasmuch as women want their voices to be heard, it is prudent that they get the necessary education to talk about gender sensitive issues and not just limit themselves to feminism which most women use as an expression of hatred for men because men are ‘suppresive’.

There is less doubt that most societies are patriarchally skewed. However, our collective mission as men and women in the discourse of Gender is to dig deep and fish out the institutions that are reinforcing gender disparities in societies.
What is the role of Religion, Culture, Biology, Politics among others in the continual existence of Gender differences and Inequalities in the society?
These are the right questions to find answers to rather than just flooding social media with gender biased posts which contribute less or even nothing to Gender parity.

Biologically, he was a male and for that matter a man. However, in his multiple award winning novel – In The Chest of a woman, the late Efo Kodjo Mawugbe stressed the unrelenting zeal of women to do something for the society if not for themselves. He wrote , “in the Chest of a woman, it is not only an extension of breast and a feeble heart but a flaming desire to posses and use power”

This statement (from a man) seems to incite the power of women in society and for which and among other reasons, women must not be discriminated , suppressed and worse of all, relegated to the kitchen.

Men must see women as having the potentials and strength to match up.
The differences between the two sexes must be buried in biology instead of social and cultural definitions which poses a greater threat to social Cohesion.

To draw the line, sex is the biological definition for being a male or female. Gender on the other hand is the social and cultural definition for being a man or women. From the gender perspective, the roles and responsibilities are woven into our make and we tend to act based on the social abstractions of who a man or women is. Women love pink and men love blue, men are providers and women are nurturers, men love mathematics and women love the Arts are but few of socially defined Gender traits which are subject to changes from the onset of primary socialization.

Education is the key and it must be the driving force in reconciling the social differences between the two sexes.

We must come to terms with the fact that we need each other to exceed our limits. The progress society needs lies in the collective efforts of both parties. Both must learn, relearn and unlearn where necessary to appreciate their critical roles in society and at least give each other the desirable accolades in reaching their goals for the benefit of society and Humanity at large.

Of course, “the women must be crazy”, most men rant these words upon hearing that they (women) want to pull parity but my question is , what is the role of men in the ‘craziness’ of women?

LIFE

In the middle of life is something so special that is worth noting. Yet, not all has been able to figure  out and even those that have been successful in decoding the centre of life are still battling with how to overcome these requirements needed to progress to the next stage.
I may be sounding very metaphorical if not cynical if I don’t let the cat out of the bag now.  This not a suspense though. Hope you have a clue what lies at the centre of LIFE now. Kudus if you have been able to decipher but let’s give our readers on the other side that think that life is lumped up to be like perfect  radius of a great circle the benefit of the doubt and  educate them. At least the motivation alone will be the reason the will always keep their heads up!

Now let’s make headway. Have you thought of life without a condition, choice and limitations ever before? It sounds so normal to answer in the affirmative but makes you a super human to answer in the reverse. Hmm, at the centre of LifE is  the mother of all  probabilistic clauses (if) .. You may check that again so you don’t doubt the uncertainties of life and its associated conditions just like Thomas did. At the centre of life is a lonely ‘i’ and a forward leaning ‘f’ put together in the Queen’s language to get ‘if’ which by basic grammar we are taught to be a conditional clause. Oops! Was that a mere coincidence or there is an allegory aback?

As humans, we are battling the “never ending” strokes of life with the conditions and demands of it suppressing us the more. Uncertainties of life leave us in dilemma simply because nature has a way of regulating the doings of mankind which we have little or no knowledge about. Hence , the thousand and one questions asked each and everyday.
In the realms of humanity, there are causes and effects. ‘If’ you  do this, that will happen. ‘If’ you don’t work , you become poor. ‘If’ you don’t study, you will fail just to mention a few. These are conditional sentences which lead humanity to always make a choice – whether you know the effect of the cause or not, you are obliged to make a compelling choice.

This is what separates the Shakespeare’s from the ordinaries. Losers give up on their dreams because they are uncertain about the effect of their cause given the conditions of life. Believe you me , the world wouldn’t have embraced light earlier if Thomas Edison had internalized thoughts of limitations and uncertainties given the conditions “what  ‘if’ the bulb fails to glow?” Many dreams and talents have been buried with the fear of the uncertain ‘if’ condition.

“What ‘if’ I fail?” Is by far the question asked by students who are yet to take a new course.
Davido, was right ‘if I tell you say I love…’ That’s when I’m tied to the promises I made to you. He might have hidden that aspect of the ‘if’ clause. Until he says he loves you, he can’t promise you a penny-the Versace and Gucci are not yours yet.
Now my avid reader, the fear of failure and the uncertainty of the conditions are making risk taking a problem. It has been said, the greatest risk ever is not taking a risk at all.

What if;

-I say you are the best,

-You are not a failure in your category,

-you are a maker and defier of nature?
The ‘if’ clauses are not to depress and suppress you.

Step out of you comfort zone, make a move  insofar as you are not living your life on a circular path, progress would be made and you will surely get to your destined destination from and uncertain location ‘if’ you believe.

No Limits

It’s been long Coming, but collectively, we believe it will be worth waiting.

Throughout decades of centuries and forth surging, the driving force behind our faster pace has never disappointed us. Though we stumble and fumble as we struggle, we rest not in battle.

Yes! we care less about the limitations – they exist to catapult us to greater heights. We smile irrespective of our location and condition and do not allow the forces of oppression to clamp down our dreams and high hopes for a beautiful tomorrow.

We smile and never respect class, race, colour and religious affiliations because we believe in what we see ourselves achieving together even from afar.

Simply ask who we are , doubt not. We are TheNeverGiveUps.
